Komono, the Belgian brand of sunglasses and watches, opened a new franchised mono-brand store with its Greece distributor in Athens in July. In 2017, the company plans to open two additional units - a franchised store in Tokyo and a company-owned store in Los Angeles, where the company is distributing its products directly via a subsidiary that was established in Los Angeles in 2014 for sales in the U.S., where agents previously represented the brand. Komono also has mono-brand stores in France, Spain, Portugal and Taipei as well as two stores in the domestic Belgian market. Komono changed the distribution of its products in Japan at the beginning of this year. choosing Beyond Cool, a company specializing in the distribution of watches, to market and sell the brand's entire ranges of sunglasses and watches. Komono recorded total sales of more than €15 million in 2015 and expects to reach €20 million by the end of this year, almost evenly split between eyewear and watches.
