Last month, a group of burglars with heavy lifting tools and an apparent knowledge of the eyewear business worked over a Vision Express store in Bury St. Edmunds, the UK, for about £30,000 (€44,000-$56,000) worth of eyewear and a safe that had taken five men to install. The thieves took the sunglasses and frames of brands like Prada, Gucci and Armani, as well as their cases - making the stolen goods even more saleable. To prevent future burglaries of the store, which had been broken into already once three years ago, the outlet has added a new alarm system and placed bars on its windows.
