Laurent Afflelou, one of the two sons of Alain Afflelou, is joining the executive board of the French-based optical retail chain named after his father to act as its new general manager. He was most recently in charge of the development of Afflelou's corporate stores. The former general manager, Didier Pascual, has been promoted to president of the company, replacing Grégoire Champetier after only a few months in the post. Alain Afflelou himself continues as chairman of the company, controlled by Bridgepoint Capital. It currently has 657 Alain Afflelou stores in France and 327 abroad, including 249 in Spain. It also has 42 Claro shops in France.
