L.G.R. is going to open its first flagship store in Milan during the month of October, after the success of a pop-up shop opened earlier this year. The store will be located at 36, Corso Garibaldi, in the prestigious Brera district of the city. Known for its silky, hand-polished frames with mineral lenses, which are inspired by certain models worn in Italy's former African colonies, L.G.R. has been growing by about 30 percent a year lately, reaching a turnover of €2.5 million. Worn by celebrities, they are sold in about 1,000 stores around the world, 120 of them in Italy. The company was founded in 2008 by Luca Gnecchi Ruscone, whose grandfather imported photographic equipment and eyewear in Eritrea.
