The Austrian-based Michael Pachleitner Group (MP Group) is expanding its top management with the appointment of a seasoned Austrian executive, Heinzpeter Mandl, saying that his task will be the strategic development of its 360° service concept internationally.
We know and appreciate Mandl from another publication of ours, Shoe Intelligence. At the age of 48, he resigned last year, with effect from Dec. 1, as joint chief executive of Leder & Schuh, the biggest shoe retailer in Austria, trading under banners such as Humanic and Stiefelkönig also in Germany and various Eastern European countries. He had been with the company for 17 years.
With a turnover of €87.1 million in 2015 and positioned as an all-around supplier of products for the optical sector, the MP Group employs 600 people at its head office in Graz and several offices around Europe. It owns a lens laboratory in Germany, Schulz. It produces several eyewear lines and has logistic facilities in the Czech Republic. It recently extended its eyewear license with Red Bull.
Meanwhile, the group said it was boosting its sales network in France from nine to 12 sales representatives, with a plan to add two more in the autumn. The idea is to expand the distribution in the country from Red Bull Racing Eyewear to the other lines of the group, which include brands such as Daniel Hechter, H.I.S. and Robert Laroche.
