Marchon Eyewear and Cutler and Gross have signed an exclusive partnership for U.S. distribution of the British-based brand's optical glasses and sunglasses. The Cutler and Gross eyewear line, previously distributed directly by the company in the U.S., will be sold at optical retailers, specialty stores and selected department stores, thereby benefitting from Marchon's strong position in its domestic market. However, they will still be available directly at Cutler and Gross' own stores in New York and Los Angeles, as well as on its retail website. The British company, having shifted its global strategy to emphasize the wholesale sector, has announced that it opened 200 new accounts last year and grew by 27 percent in volume. The announcement of a new fashion license is expected for mid-November.
