Mario Lozza, whose family pioneered of the modern Italian eyewear industry, has died at the age of 70 years in the Cadore region, where he moved back several years ago after selling a portion of his family business to a former schoolmate, Ennio De Rigo. Before moving to the USA with his family in 1970, Lozza helped to found the MIDO fair in Milan and ANFAO, the Italian eyewear industry association. He married Marisa Fedon, from the family that is still famous for its eyewear cases, and had 3 sons - Lucio, Virgilio and Massimo - with whom he set up an eyewear distribution operation in the USA.
