Mei has begun constructing its new headquarters in Ponte San Pietro, near Bergamo, in a strategic position along one of the main arteries cutting across Bergamo's hinterland, and just a few kilometers from its current facilities in Valbrembo. The new building is intended to enable the Italian lens processing equipment maker accommodate the company's steady growth in production volumes and staff. The new premises will have a floor area of around 10,500 square meters, of which 2,500 will serve as office space and 8,000 as production and warehousing facilities. The company said the new center should guarantee higher production volumes and therefore faster deliveries. The building will also offer more space for day-to-day operations, with the inclusion, for example, of a demonstration room and a training room. Mei's new headquarters is expected to open in mid-2016.
