Menrad, which has had a sales subsidiary in China since 2008, is now planning to expand into the Middle East. Currently, Menrad has offices in Germany, Austria, China, Switzerland, France, the U.K., Ireland and the Netherlands. The German company, whose brands of frames and sunglasses include Zeiss, recorded a 1 percent sales increase in 2010. It manufactures its products mainly in China, where it manages a production site since 1996, employing some 900 people. Additionally, it owns a small factory in Switzerland.
