More than 600 exhibitors from 20 countries appeared at the 19th HKTDC Hong Kong Optical Fair held on Nov. 3-5, which the organizers said was a record. More than 150 manufacturers and designers showed in the Brand Name Gallery arena, including first-timers such as Fiorucci, Guy Laroche, Kenzo, myDeary and TD Tom Davies. The fair coincided with the ninth Hong Kong optometric conference, which looked at vision development and myopia. The Vision Council hosted a seminar on compliance with international standards. The optical fair used Quick Response technology, which allowed visitors to use their smartphones and tablets to keep track of the stands they visited and to scan codes and get e-catalogs and tailored emails from the exhibitors.
