Novartis, the Italian Ophthalmology Society (SOI) and Cottino Foundation are the promoters of H40 - Hackathon for Ophthalmology, a collaborative initiative to boost innovation in the development of solutions for visually impaired and blind people. During a 48-hour marathon, small interdisciplinary teams made up of doctors, developers, students, patients and designers work on the design of innovative solutions to address the needs of visually impaired and blind people. The H40 hackathon is organized within the framework of Hacking Health, an international innovation project promoted by the University of Milan-Bicocca, aimed at students in fields related to medicine, well-being and public health management. This year's edition of Hacking Health, which was first launched in 2015, runs from April to October.
