Numerous companies have donated money and services to help the victims of the floods in Dresden and other parts of Germany last month. According to Focus magazine, the Optic Society buying cooperative has donated optical instruments and a complete store refit to an optician in Oppenheim. Essilor has offered special rebates and free repair services to other affected opticians. Rodenstock has set up an emergency program, offering to lend up to e500,000 interest-free for up to 3 months to any opticians, even those who are not its customers, to help them to rebuild their practices.
