Optical Center, the fifth-largest group of independent opticians in France, is diversifying into refractive surgery, opening the first clinic in Lyon with an investment of around €1 million. Optical Center federates 445 optical stores, which had retail revenues of €484 million, more than 10 percent of that from the sale of hearing aids. About 100 of those stores belong to Laurent Lévy, a French-Israeli entrepreneur who is running the French store network while spending most of his time in Jerusalem. Optical Center has opened some stores in the Benelux countries and Spain. It plans to open 70 in Israel.
