Optical Discount, the low-cost French banner that was taken over by Alain Afflelou in 2015 announced last month the opening of its first shop in Tunisia, in the city of Sfax. The retailer has more than doubled its number of stores since the takeover with a current total of 182 doors, out of which 17 are located abroad, in Belgium but also in Africa where it is already present in Morocco, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Togo. The group announced its ambition to reach a total of 220 shops by the end of 2018.
