Optical retailers' sales declined by 4 percent in France during January, February and March 2016 as compared to the previous quarter, according to Banque de France. The decline was mostly attributed by the bank's experts to the comparison with the strong performance in December, according to reports in acuite.fr. Pharmacies, the only other health-related sector among those under scrutiny in the bank's report, saw a growth of 1.1 percent during the first quarter of 2016. Data were compiled by Banque de France through its branches and research centers based on surveys among French top managers and entrepreneurs.
