Paolo Ciarlariello, head of Luxottica's Chinese operations, left the group at the end of September to join Coty, the American beauty products group. Based in Shanghai, Ciarlariello was president for Greater China, in charge of wholesale and retail, from January 2015 to September 2016, according to his LinkedIn account. Prior to that he was regional director for the group in Asia-Pacific between January 2011 and January 2015, and country manager in India between February 2007 and January 2011.Before joining Luxottica he held various managerial positions for Bic, the French group best known for its disposable ballpoint pens and razors, and did a two-year stint at Arthur Andersen. At Coty, he will act as senior vice president in charge of Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. He will be based in Dubai.
