Peter Posimski, who runs a couple of optical stores under his own name out of Wolfenbüttel, in the North of Germany, has been elected as the new chairman of AMA, the powerful German buying and marketing group, which has 1,584 members. He replaces Klaus-Dieter Horn of Berlin, who will now concentrate on alliances with similar groups in other European countries, beyond RMA Hellas in Greece and its MDA subsidiary in the UK, which supplies mostly frames to more than 1,300 opticians. Some action on this front may take place by the end of this year. New on AMA's board are Tom Friedauer of Frankfurt and Holger Abel of Wilhelmshafen.
