Pierre Agnès, CEO of Boardriders, the group behind the Quiksilver, Roxy and DC Shoes brands, has been lost at sea since Jan. 30. The group confirmed three days later that the search and rescue efforts were not successful in locating him. The Frenchman had spent the past 30 years, his entire professional career, developing Quiksilver and Boardriders. After leading the French surf team in the 1980s, he entered the industry in 1992 by launching Omareef, a producer of surf glasses and watches that was bought by Quiksilver after he joined that company in 1997.
