Pro-Laser has put an end to a 3-year exclusive distribution agreement for its own industrial products with Loh, which it had signed last March, committing the company to annual minimum purchases of $8 million. Pro-Laser, which is going to use now its own sales network for these products, predicts no major sales decline as a result of this termination. In the 3 months ended last Sept. 30, Pro-Laser turned around to a net profit of 743,000 euros on sales of 18,327,000 euros. The gross margin improved to 45.4 percent from 41.8 percent for all of 1999. This scores are not comparable with the year-ago period. As compared to the 2nd quarter of 2000, sales grew by 20 percent, thanks in particular to a stronger North American business, and the operating profit rose by 83 percent. The group has enlarged its production facility in Düsseldorf from 13,000 to more than 16,000 square meters to cope with its growth.
