Okia has presented an upgraded version of its Reshape collection of biodegradable glasses made with upcycled plastic bottles. It has also introduced a collection of lightweight frames made of a new, trademarked magnesium-aluminum alloy called Suflexium. According to the company, Suflexium exceeds the strength of steel at about one-third of the weight, resists corrosion from facial acids, retains color exceptionally well and “naturally generates a protective oxide coating,” while also being hypoallergenic. Headquartered in Hong Kong, Okia is known for its High Definition Acetate (HDA).
