Wood Light, the French brand of handcrafted wooden frames, has introduced a capsule collection of frames made with both wood and volcanic rock. The idea originated with a chef, Adrien Descouls, who wanted a pair of glasses to celebrate the volcanoes of the Auvergne region of France. Descouls spoke with the optician Thibault Randoin, founder of Optic Dome, and together they approached Julien Douzal, founder of Wood Light, which is headquartered near Clermont-Ferrand and the Chaîne des Puys volcanic range. The stone for the collection is quarried near the French city of Volvic, which, thanks to the volcanoes, is famous for its water. The frames are on sale at woodlight-boutique.com.
