Zenni has signed a multi-year deal with the interior and fashion designer, and self-described “world’s oldest living teenager” and “geriatric starlet,” Iris Apfel. The first batch of the Iris x Zenni line consists of 100 items – in celebration of her forthcoming 100th birthday – selected by Apfel herself. These break down into five categories: Live Colorfully, Signature Style, Structural Design, Bazaar Treasures and Mini Iris (for children). Prices range from $16.95 to $45.95. The second batch, in which Apfel had a hand in the design, will make its debut in August, for her “Zentennial.” According to Zenni, Apfel inspired the “Iris Apfel Edit” by sharing “her favorite collected treasures from all over the world – from textiles to jewelry to fine art.” Meanwhile Zenni will be introducing new lenses through Snapchat on May 13. Headquartered near San Francisco, Zenni has been focused on e-commerce and low-cost prescription eyewear since 2003. Its prices start at $6.95 and average about $40. It says it has sold more than 35 million frames worldwide.
