De Rigo Vision has reached a multi-year agreement under which its Los Angeles-based unit De Rigo REM will be the sole distributor of DIFF Eyewear’s sun and optical frames in the North American optical market.

DIFF Eyewear is a rapidly growing American-based fashion eyewear company that offers eyewear and accessories through and at department and specialty stores throughout the U.S. including Dillard’s, Nordstrom, Tilly’s, and Buckle.

Michele Aracri, the managing director of De Rigo Vision, noted that the partnership with DIFF Eyewear allows the company to expand its “offering into a more accessible price point and younger demographic.”

DIFF Eyewear’s chief executive, Bob Ross, said that he was seeking a partner that could service the U.S. optical channels and introduce the brand into Canada, and possibly into European markets in the near future.

The Italian eyewear company said that the DIFF Eyewear launch collection consists of women and unisex eyewear designs that include 12 optical frames, six sunglasses and two readers. Select styles will also be available with blue blocking lenses to protect eyes from harmful rays emitted from digital devices. The launch collection retails for $85-95 and will be available through De Rigo REM’s independent channel, key accounts and B2B portals.

Built on the principles that designer eyewear should be affordable, fashionable and socially-conscious, DIFF has donated over 1.5 million pairs of reading glasses to individuals in need and has provided support for eye-exams, surgeries, glasses and medicine for every pair of eyewear sold, according to De Rigo.
