For Eyes, the U.S. business unit of the GrandVision group, has expanded its partnership with the American drug store chain Walgreens by launching a co-branded website called Walgreens.foreyes.com.
In a message on his LinkedIn account, Jorge Gervasi, For Eyes’ managing director, said that the website was created in just eight weeks with dozens of people across both companies involved. He noted that Walgreens is the country’s second largest seller of contact lenses. “They have a huge optical market, but no solution for prescription glasses. Until now.” Thanks to the partnership, For Eyes becomes Walgreen’s exclusive provider of prescription glasses from the website.
The partnership between the two companies started with For Eyes opening in December an optical department in a Walgreens store in Chicago. The company now has 10 For Eyes at Walgreens in the Chicago area.
