Luz, a French buying group that boasts more than 1,800 members, is partnering with two of its affiliates, Optik Budget and Benocle, to help them develop their respective store network and concept in France. Optik Budget addresses the entry level segment of the market and currently operates 24 retail locations, mostly in the South-West region of the country. Partnering with Essilor, the chain’s main offering is based on a package price where customers are only charged for the lenses, while the frames, including branded eyewear, are supplied “free of charge”. Launched five years ago, Benocle is positioned in the premium segment and runs 13 shops.
