The German optician and eyewear retailer Mister Spex is expanding its domestic store network to 31 units with new openings in Bielefeld on June 10, Heidelberg on June 18 and Saarbrücken and Lübeck on June 25 and July 2 respectively.

With the Bielefeld store, the company further consolidates its presence in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s most populous state. The new store is centrally located in the recently opened Loom shopping center. The opening in Saarbrücken, in the Europa-Galerie shopping center, marks Mister Spex’s debut in Saarland, where the company hopes to attract customers from neighboring France and Luxembourg.

The Lübeck store will be Mister Spex’ first in Schleswig-Holstein and comes as an addition to the existing northern German locations in Hamburg and Bremen. The new store is located in the heart of the city center, near tourist hotspots such as the Café Niederegger and the Buddenbrookhaus.

All three stores have a sales area of approximately 100 square meters, with a product range of over 700 eyeglasses and sunglasses in Bielefeld and in Saarbrücken and over 900 in Lübeck, in addition to free services such as eye tests and eyewear adjustments.

The store in Heidelberg is smaller, with about 60 square meters and 600 models. It is the fourth in the state of Baden-Württemberg and is located in Hauptstrasse, one of Europe’s longest pedestrian zones.

The openings complement the Berlin-based company’s e-commerce business, in a move to further consolidate its omnichannel strategy. The online platform offers more than 10,000 glasses from over 100 brands.
