Swiss Lens, a supplier of made-to-order contact lenses, will be taking over the production and international distribution of the complete Lunelle range of contact lenses from CooperVision from Nov. 1. The Swiss company has been supplying Lunelle Toric RX contact lenses to CooperVision for more than 20 years. The product was originally developed in the 1980s by Biolens, another Swiss company that was later taken over by the Essilor group. When Essilor closed Biolens in 2000, the production of Lunelle Torix RX contact lenses was entrusted to Swiss Lens. Swiss Lens distributes its product ranges directly in most European countries except for Scandinavia, Italy and the Netherlands where it has distributors.
