Rodenstock should complete in a few weeks' time the consolidation of all its North American R&D, administration and manufacturing operations at its new purpose-built facility in Columbus, Ohio, which will end up employing about 200 persons. The office and former pilot plant of 2C Optics in Alpharetta, near Atlanta, will be closed by Aug. 2, and over half of its remaining 20-25 administrative employees will move to Columbus. One of the 4-5 people still working in Rodenstock's R&D lab for Colormatic photochromic lenses at Hayward, California, will also move to Columbus. The local facility will be shut down by May 10.
