Safilo has just opened a showroom in Mexico City. The 6,500-square-foot space features the group's own brands as well as eyewear collections by brands for which it holds licenses, such as Gucci, Dior, and Fendi. The move is part of a broader plan by the Italian eyewear company to expand in Latin America, which is seen as a region with high potential for growth. Safilo's Latin American region is headed by Angela Gomez, who has recently joined the company after working for 16 years at SAP, where she held senior positions including vice president of SAP Services for Mexico and Central America. Safilo operates in Latin America through local partnerships. At the Miami regional headquarters, a multifunction organization handles all customers, stakeholders and distributors from all over Latin America.
