The group is studying the transfer of its North American head office from Parsippany, New Jersey, to a site closer to New York City, partly in order to attract new talent more easily.

The announced shuttering of Safilo's North American headquarters and distribution center in Parsippany will start in earnest in the second half of this year with the closure of the first part of the distribution center in October. The rest of the distribution center will be closed next year.

The move is part of the group's efforts to streamline its U.S. logistics and distribution operations, which will be entirely run from the existing site in Denver. The company already booked a €1.2 million charge in the first half of 2015 toward the closure of the Parsippany site.
