Specsavers and Sauflon are reported to be investing large amounts of money in Hungary, with help from the national government. Specsavers is investing nearly €15 million in the construction of a 14,000-square-meter factory for the production of prescription frames and contact lenses, which is set to begin next year. It will take longer for Sauflon's project, which is said to be worth €40 million and intended to manufacture 350 million contact lenses per year. Carl Zeiss Vision and Hoya already have important production facilities in Hungary.
