Specsavers, the large British optical retail chain, reportedly decided at the last minute against making an offer for Laubman & Pank, an Australian chain of 130 optometrical and optical outlets. According to Insight, a majority of Laubman & Pank's shareholders have instead accepted a bid by OPSM Protector, which already has 277 stores in Australia, plus 80 others in New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore. OPSM will thus raise to over 40 percent its market share in Australia.
