Spektre is launching the new Mambo line, its first ophthalmic collection. Until now, the Milan-based company had only produced sunglasses. The Mambo collection comprises 13 ophthalmic frames, available in a choice of neutral tones. The company said Mambo frames are inspired by “a modern street style” as well as some of its iconic sunglass shapes. The Audacia, for example, one of the most popular Spektre sunglasses, has been reproduced with some variations as an ophthalmic frame. Spektre was founded in 2009 and its frames are now sold in boutiques in more than 56 countries.
