Steve Neil, who has been executive vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and secretary of SOLA International since 1997, has become executive vice president and CFO of Ocular Sciences, replacing Sid Landman who is leaving the company. SOLA indicates that Neil's decision was prompted by the fact that he had been commuting between Northern and Southern California each week since the end of 2001, after the group's corporate finance office was relocated to San Diego. Separately, David Ambler has left as SOLA's vice president of research, development and engineering and as its director of product development to join another California-based firm, Younger Optical, in a similar position. In France, meanwhile, Eric Lechat, a 36-year-old manager who joined the national American Optical subsidiary as commercial director one year ago, is replacing François Bès de Berc as its chairman and CEO.
