TD Tom Davies, the British eyewear brand, has established a system whereby opticians get frames on consignment, provided that they order at least 200 units. If the sales target is achieved during the first year, the process continues free-of-charge in the following year. The company will open its first mono-brand store in London in February, and it will be its own property. The first franchised mono-brand store will be opened in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in April. The franchised-store system will only be implemented in Asia. TD Tom Davies also presented its new shop-in-shop concept, which will be adopted by seven opticians in the next couple of months, at Opti 2014 in Munich. About ten shop-in-shops have already been installed at partnering opticians, benefiting from the same consignment scheme as the franchisees. New corners are planned to open in April in Göttingen, Germany and Chicago, Illinois. In Rotterdam and Eider, Netherlands, shop-in-shop systems were installed at local opticians last November.
