The 100% Optical show, taking place in London on Feb. 6-8 for the third year in a row, will feature a new Contact Lens hub, fashion shows and conferences. It will also showcase the prototypes of three young designers picked from the Royal College of Art in a dedicated design contest. 100% Optical will again partner with Fight for Sight, inviting anyone to make a donation with their smartphones even before the show. In another new competion, Dada by Tom Davies, the public is being asked to vote for the best eyewear designs while donating a minimum of £0.50. The winners will be announced at 100% Optical on Feb. 7. If they donate more, they will be able to participate in contests for a pair of Tom Davies glasses or even a private consultation with him in his Sloane Square store in London. Dada by Tom Davies is joining Orbis in its campaign Vision for Zambia, and any donation made by the public will be doubled by the U.K. government. The finalists' artwork is posted on the Just Giving site www.justgiving.com/DADAbyTomDavies, where the public's vote has to be cast along with the donations.
