The 29-year-old publishing company of Jörg Spangemacher, which puts out Focus, MAFO and other periodicals for the German-speaking countries and organizes international conferences on vision care, is launching a trade magazine in Chinese. The project, which is led by a Chinese and conducted in cooperation with a young Chinese publishing company, was presented at the China International Optics Fair in Shanghai last month. The first issue of the Chinese Focus magazine will come out at the fair in Beijing next September. The periodical will come out every other month with a circulation of between 15,000 and 20,000 copies. Spangemacher has already been active on the Chinese market by organizing the training of local opticians based on German standards since last September.
