The 50th edition of the Silmo show has been scheduled for Oct. 6-9, 2017, and its organizers are planning to revisit its layout for the occasion. The general business mood was positive at the last edition of the international trade show, which took place in Paris last Sept. 23-26, especially in the designers' section. However, the total number of visitors went down by 1.3 percent to 33,771 as compared to the 2014 edition, with declines of 0.1 percent in French attendance and 2.6 percent in attendance from abroad. The bulk of the visitors – a total of 18,886 of them – came from outside France. Drops of 4.7 percent from the rest of Europe and 3.9 percent from Asia were partly offset by increases of 4.3 percent from Africa, 3.5 percent from the Americas, 4.2 percent from the Middle East and 6.2 percent from Australasia.
