The British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) has announced that its Clinical Conference and Exhibition will become a biennial event with a three-day format from 2015. The association said the decision to host the event every two years instead of annually was made after listening to members and partners and after an internal financial review earlier this year. The switch is believed to help BCLA meet a number of its strategic goals, including focusing on a diversified offer to members through initiatives such as the new, annual Visionaries and Pioneers Conference. The BCLA confirmed that planning for the 2015 conference is already underway, and that these plans will include a day dedicated to myopia management and new educational courses. The 39th BCLA Clinical Conference and Exhibition, which will be officially launched at the Association's Visionaries and Pioneers Conference on Nov. 17, will be held at the ACC Liverpool on May 29–31, 2015.
