The British eyewear brand TD Tom Davies celebrated its 10th anniversary at Opti '12 in Munich. For the occasion, the company designed a 10-piece special edition collection, which was presented for the first time during the show. Tom Davies selected 10 different designs, each marking a landmark in the brand's 10-year-history. The limited editions will be launched over the coming 10 months, starting with a replica of the first-ever TD Tom Davies frame. Other highlights of the collection are the most successful sunglasses sold through the luxury department store Harrods and the first frame that the company customzed for a British journalist. TD Tom Davies increased its sales by 20 percent in 2011. Export sales grew by 18 percent. Europe is still the biggest market for the company but Tom Davies reckons that sales in the U.S. will overtake European sales certainly next year. To that end, the company plans to set up an office in the U.S. in the future. TD Tom Davies also plans to enter the Chinese market and is currently in search of a sales manager to take care of clients there. It is also exploring Russia, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. For marketing purposes, the company is now filming every stage in the production process of a frame. The film will be released in April, aiming end consumers. Also in April, TD Tom Davies will again carry out a design workshop with 40 opticians from various countries at its factory in China. The plant was renovated over the last months to extend the production capacity by an additional 10,000 pieces a month.
