The Center for Leadership and Values in Society at the University of St. Gallen and Dr. Arend Oetker, chair of business psychology and leadership at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, have ranked Carl Zeiss first among German companies for its public service in this year's Public Value Atlas. Zeiss placed 30th in the general ranking among 150 companies and organizations, which saw the national fire brigade in first place. Zeiss said that the award was a recognition of the company's good economic results and its desire to innovate with the goal of advancing scientific and technological progress for the society.
