The Cooper Companies has appointed John Weber as president of CooperVision, a newly created management position in the contact lens division of the company. The management of CVI had been shared between the chief executive of Cooper Companies, Robert Weiss, and its chief financial officer, Steven Neil, since the departure of CVI’s former president, Greg Fryling, in April 2007. Neil is now leaving the company to be replaced by Eugene J. Midlock, who joined CVI in 2005 and was promoted as vice president of finance last November. A former senior executive of Ocular Sciences, which merged with CVI, Weber served as CVI’s vice president of manufacturing and distribution from January 2005 to March 2007, and then as president for the Asia-Pacific region until now.
