The latest edition of the Bestore Award has honored Ludwig Oehm in Frankfurt and Ottica Paglia Giuseppe in Calascibetta, Italy with a design award. The innovation prize was awarded to Globe Specs Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan. The Bestore Award is an international contest that rewards the best optical practices in the world. The award ceremony took place in the Fashion District at Mido 2018, in Milan, on Feb. 25. For the first time, the award featured two categories. Mido's organizers said they thought it was vital to recognize stores not only for their design but also for their interaction with consumers, which has grown increasingly important over the last few years. In the design category, an international panel of judges assessed the layout, design, materials and furnishings of the store, as well as how the general atmosphere contributed to the in-store experience. In the innovation category, practices were assessed on aspects such as communications, interaction with the customer and customer service.
