The London-based Federation of Manufacturing Opticians (FMO) has appointed Andy Yorke as its new chairman. Yorke, who is the managing director of Topcon Medical, has more than 35 years of experience in the U.K. ophthalmic industry and optical profession. He is a past president of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) and past chairman of the former Ophthalmic Equipment Manufacture Suppliers Association (OEMSA). He currently serves as FMO's vice chairman, and will take over from the current chairman, Mark Truss, on the occasion of the federation's annual general meeting, on Dec. 2. Truss has chaired the FMO board for the past year.
