The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust (the Trust) has announced it has begun working on a multi-stakeholder initiative to lay the foundations for a new $1 billion Vision Catalyst Fund. For this initiative, which will be developed ove r the next two years, the Trust will be joining forces with civil society, public organizations and the private sector. The fund is supposed to provide sustainable and long-term solutions for eye health to populations in the British Commonwealth countries and across the globe. The companies and organizations supporting the fund include Essilor International, Peek Vision, Clearly, Sightsavers, Standard Chartered, UBS, the Fred Hollows Foundation, and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.
