The shareholders of Opto Global Holdings Pty, an Australian supplier of precision optometric and ophthalmic equipment, have accepted a tender offer for their shares by Optos plc, a retinal imagery company based in Scotland, making the acquisition complete. The total cost of the transaction is $11.75 million, $10.75 million of which is cash to the stockholders, with the other $1 million in the form of 434,487 new shares in Optos. Optos said that this deal would increase it revenues through strong products and a widespread distribution network. Opto Global, which made a loss last year on sales of 4.5 million Australian dollars (€3.4-$4.4m), has a strong presence in Asia and Latin America.
