The Thai police seized nearly one million pairs of fake designer sunglasses in a series of raids on a counterfeiting gang in Bangkok at the beginning of March. Two Chinese nationals - a man and a woman - were arrested, investigators said. Ray-Ban, Oakley, Dior and Louis Vuitton were among the labels that the gang had faked. If sold as genuine versions, the sunglasses would be worth the equivalent of around $3.6 million. The police seized a total of 895,897 pairs of sunglasses at seven locations across Bangkok's Chinatown district. Parts of the fakes were manufactured in China and assembled by the gang in Thailand.
