The Topolino model by Rolf Spectacles has won the Good Design Award. The eyewear is named after the Fiat Topolino, the small Italian car that was produced by Fiat until the mid-1950s. “Topolino” is also the Italian word for “little mouse” as well as the Italian name for Disney's Mickey Mouse. At the time of its production, the Topolino was one of the smallest cars in the world. The Topolino eyewear, whose design is reminiscent of the Topolino car, is available in four wood combinations: smoked eucalyptus, bog oak/maple/bog oak, bog oak/walnut and the award-winning walnut variety. The Good Design Award, founded in Chicago in 1950, honors the world's best industrial and graphic designers and manufacturers of the year for their pursuit of extraordinary design excellence.
