The U.S. Patent Office has given its first patent to Marchon3D for its curved M3D lenses, which can be used for 3D movies, games, and TVs and computers. The patent applies to the curved lenses as well as the assembled frames and the method of manufacturing the lenses. It covers production and sales in the U.S. as well as products that might be imported into the country. The 3D eyewear can be used as sunglasses, as it provides 100 percent protection against the sun's harmful rays. Marchon3D eyewear is certified by RealD, a leading global licensor of 3D technologies for cinema, consumer electronics and professional applications. Marchon has also reported that it will supply the lenses and their technology to Revolution Eyewear for it to use in its magnetic clip-on product line. The clip-ons allow glasses wearers to put the 3D lenses on over their eyewear, instead of having to fit 3D glasses on over their own. The 3D magnetic clip-ons will be available for sale before the upcoming Vision Expo East show in New York.
