The Uvex Winter Holding Group has reported an increase in total sales of 6.4 percent to a record of €365 million in the last financial year, ended last July. The Uvex Safety Group, the largest division of this German producer of bike and ski helmets, eyewear and protective clothing and equipment for work and professional uses, went up by 5.2 percent to €260.9 million. The sports division raised its sales by 9.6 percent to €111.1 million, mainly due to a good development in the horseback riding and cycling segments, but snow sports products were on the rise as well. Problems in Japan and Russia were partly offset by the healthy evolution of the Alpina brand, which raised its sales of snow and bike products in Europe, especially in the German-speaking countries.
